Seaside Village
Nestled along the shores of the Salish Sea, Seaside Village is a thoughtfully designed coastal community that reimagines a beloved local landmark into a vibrant, walkable neighbourhood. Situated just steps from Tulista Park and the Sidney waterfront, the project is grounded in a deep respect for its natural and cultural context — celebrating ocean views, shoreline ecology, and the small-town character of Sidney.
The landscape design for Seaside Village embraces a coastal village narrative, where streetscapes, courtyards, and oceanfront create an inviting environment for residents and visitors alike. Public realm improvements along Lochside Drive and Weiler Avenue offer improved sidewalks, integrated planting, and seating opportunities that connect seamlessly to the town’s trail network and cycling routes. Within the site, a generous central green courtyard serves as the social heart of the townhouse cluster — designed to encourage community gathering, outdoor play and quiet reflection. Native and climate-adapted plant species support ecological resilience, while stormwater is managed through integrated green infrastructure that mimics natural hydrology.
The project balances privacy and openness, density and livability — introducing a fine-grained fabric of apartment and townhouse living that fits gracefully into the waterfront setting. At its core, Seaside Village is an expression of coastal living: human-scaled, ecologically responsive, and deeply connected to the rhythms of land, sea, and community.
